We all desire to have our churches growing. If not, there is something wrong. Your call and profession might need a review. Growing a church is Biblical, and an imperative from our Lord. However, we also need to discover what it means to "grow a church." Most people consider numerical growth, and for good reasons. Numbers means success most of the time, and the more you have the more to whom you are ministering. Nevertheless, is that the main reason for growth? Well, see for yourself. Ideas to consider: (Romans 12:18; 14:18-19; Ephesians 4:3; Hebrews 12:14)

1.The number one reason for church growth is the preaching ability of the pastor. (Luke 3:1-7)

2.The number one reason why people stop coming to your church is conflict and gossip! (James 3:5-6)

3.The number two reason that people leave a church is poor "people skills" of the pastor and/or leadership, because they do not manage the conflicts and gossip! These poor "people skills" will cause the majority of conflicts between that pastor and the people. (Matthew 5:9)

4.The Bible must be taught in such a way that it is real and can be applied to the lives and situations of the people. You are to equip and disciple people, not just in the basics of the faith, but also in how to be Christians in their families, work, and relationships. They must be taught how to be effective Christians, and how to live their lives to His glory! (Psalm 119:9-12)

5.Preach holiness, how to worship, how to deal with sin, how to relate to one another, and how to love one another, while modeling it yourself! Evangelism, stewardship, and discipleship come out of these! As people are transformed, they can be taught and motivated. (Jeremiah 33:6; Romans 7:12; Galatians 3)

WE ARE THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

Surely He has borne our griefs

Have you ever thought about how Jesus had you on His mind when He chose to come to earth as a man?  We so often consider that Jesus thought of us when He made the supreme sacrifice on Calvary. Yet, He thought of you more than His own desires when Father God asked Him to become one of us.  Being fully God, Jesus foreknew what He would suffer on this earth.  Yet, He chose to go anyway.  Imagine yourself in a battle situation where you know there is no way out alive yet you could save your comrades by accepting the assignment.   How many of us would do such a selfless act?

How then should we respond to such great love as this?   Worship.  As you go about your business this holiday season, take some time to reflect upon what Jesus did for you.  Draw close to Him, in reverence and thankfulness, for He so desires a relationship with you. You probably have heard the saying "He is the reason for the season."  While this is true, it is also true that you are the reason for the season.  Without having you and I in mind, putting us first, God would never have became man.  Let's praise Him for this wonderful love.

Zec. 10:6 – When your debtors are refusing or are unable to pay. – When you lose your job unrighteously – When your things have been stolen and you desire recovery and arrest of the thieves – When you desire a recovery of past financial losses – Whenever you want to ‘possess your possession’ No matter the spiritual height from which you have fallen, God is very much interested in restoring you, if only you can cry unto Him for mercy. Job 42: 10: “And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends; also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.” It is the devil’s job to steal, to kill and to destroy. (John 10:10). His greatest design is to destroy the image of God in man. He will use any method.

The Bible says, “When the hedge is broken, the serpents will bite” (Ecclesiastes 10:8). Many, through carelessness break the protective hedge God has placed around their lives and property. Thus they allow the enemy to destroy it. The good news is that what is killed, stolen or destroyed by the enemy can be restored by God. Jesus said, “I am come that you might have life and life more abundantly “(John 10:10). God has promised in Joel 2:25 to restore unto us our lost and wasted years. Everything lost to the devil will be restored by God. Job lost all but in the end everything was restored to him even in multiple-fold. As you pray these prayer points, power for restoration will be released into your life.Confession: Jer. 1:12: Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
